I want to make a video but this video does not want to be made apparently. For reference, I am running windows 7 on a PC.

I have Vista (64-bit) and use Windows Movie Maker. I also have the klite codec pack installed. I used DVD Decrypter to rip a DVD. I can import the VOB files into WMM, but for some reason the last bit of the movie is registering as 24 hours long so I can't put it in my timline. This is after I used the "create clips" function. For some reason my movie maker won't play video files. It seems to load fine and there are no error messages. It simply won't play. What could be causing this?

Okay, I made a vid some months back and I had a problem with Windows Movie Maker not importing the .avi files. It was suggested that I download the Klite Codec pack, which I did. Okay, yesterday's problem is solved. Today's problem is that Windows Movie Maker is not letting me import the .avi files. It's not even giving me a missing codec message. It just says it cannot be imported. So. What do I need to get .avis to import? Alternately, what is a good program for converting .avi files to .wmv if need be? I use Vista ( Read more... )

Hi -- I'm new to vidding and about to start on my second video - the only problem being that once I import my .avi clips into WMM (I use the Vista version, if that is any help), it only plays audio while the preview screen stays black.
